| Emseal offers Migutan system for watertight plaza Emseal offers its Migutan expansion joint system for watertight sealing in a variety of commercial construction applications. Migutan is particularly ideal for applications over occupied space, where totally watertight integration of expansion joint and deck membrane is a fundamental requirement, as in split-slab construction on plaza decks. Migutan consists of heavy-duty retainer rails, synthetic rubber side flashing sheets, a thermoplastic rubber sealing insert and stainless steel retainer caps. These components assure watertightness through virtually any type of transition and termination, and the retainer caps allow for long-term maintenance access. Retainer rails are bolted to the structural slab, and Migutan's flashing sheets are integrated with the deck waterproofing system. The sealing insert is installed over the upper end of the flashing sheets, and held in compression by the retainer caps. Positive interlocking metal rails or stainless steel pins eliminate misalignment between adjoining sections. The result is a system that integrates the structural slab, deck waterproofing and expansion joint system, independent of the wear-course components, such as concrete, asphalt topping or pavers. Migutan is available in models to suit particular applications, overlay systems and topping slabs. Tees, crosses, directional changes, column details, terminations and changes in plane are available as factory fabricated assemblies. The product is available in leg heights from one to 12 inches. Emseal is the manufacturer of premium sealants and expansion joint systems for the commercial construction industry as well as for numerous gasketing applications in specialty market applications. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
