| WSP Secures Another Project Win With The Department For Transport WSP has been awarded a three year contract from the Department for Transport (DfT) to provide project management and evaluation services for the “Inner City Road Safety Demonstration Project” in East Birmingham. This £6m, five year project was initiated in 2002 when WSP assisted DfT in reviewing more than twenty submissions from Local Authorities to take part. The Inner City Road Safety Demonstration Project aims to show how a broad based, area-wide partnership approach can reduce road casualty and improve quality of life in a disadvantaged urban area. This project will build upon the experiences from Gloucester Safer City Demonstration Project, but will go further, building partnerships with a range of Local Authority and external service providers in areas like education, health, and social care.
