| Mott MacDonald appointed as engineer for Sohar Aluminium Mott MacDonald has been appointed employer’s engineer for a 1000MW captive power plant being developed to provide the power requirements of Sohar Aluminium’s new smelter project in the Sultanate Of Oman. The approximately £250 million facility is set to be the biggest greenfield power generation project to be built in the Sultanate and will be located at the Sohar industrial port. Sohar Aluminium – which is owned 40% by Oman Oil Company, 40% by ADWEA and 20% by Alcan – is developing an integrated project for a primary aluminium smelter, which will produce 350, 000 tonnes of aluminium per year from a single potline on completion of the first phase of the project. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
