| Nakheel to transform Dubai into the world's foremost boating destination Nakheel, the UAE's premier property developer, will share its plans with the maritime industry to turn the waters of Dubai into a global boating paradise, at the 2006 Dubai International Boat Show. The organisation is using the show, taking place at Dubai International Marine Club, from 14th – 18th March, to highlight its vision for the future, which includes 40, 000 berths across its portfolio of waterfront developments. Ali Bin Thalith, General Manager, Nakheel Marinas stated: “Nakheel’s landmark developments are transforming the shape of the Dubai coastline, creating 1, 500 kilometres of beachfront. The three Palm islands, The World and Dubai Waterfront create outstanding water leisure opportunities which we plan to take full advantage of. In the coming years, Nakheel Marinas will create a number of luxury marinas. It is our vision to transform Dubai into the world’s foremost boating destination.” The first planned marinas are located on The Palm Jumeirah, with a marina on each side of the trunk and two marinas at the top of the trunk. Two marinas are also under construction on Dubai Creek; much needed facilities that will provide berthing space for the hundreds of boats that currently moor in an uncontrolled fashion on the shores of the Creek. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
