| Red Hat Enterprise Linux Chosen for Oil & Gas software Red Hat announced that it has entered into a multi-year relationship with Landmark, a product line of Halliburton's Digital & Consulting Solutions division, making Red Hat Network the compute management platform of choice for Landmark's "Workflow on Demand" services business. Halliburton's Landmark is the leading supplier of software and services for the upstream oil and gas industry. The company's software solutions span exploration, production, drilling, business decision analysis and data management. In addition, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is being added to Landmark's list of supported platforms for Landmark's suite of integrated exploration and production software technology. Landmark plans to deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux on 200 software developer workstations and high-end server systems. "Many of our customers are moving towards a Linux solution as an alternative to current Unix platforms, " said Jonathan Lewis, vice president, Innovation and Marketing for Halliburton's Digital and Consulting Solutions division. "Landmark chose to align with the market leader, Red Hat, because of its commitment to the Open Source community and its relationship with commercial OEM hardware and ISV organizations. This investment assures that we can move with them in an open, flexible fashion."
