Alfred McAlpine secures £90m electricity contract

Alfred McAlpine plc, the support services group, announces contract wins of £90m in the electricity services infrastructure sector.

E.ON UK’s distribution business, Central Networks, which operates the electricity distribution network across central England, has confirmed the option to extend its contract with Alfred McAlpine. The contract will cover the design, project management and delivery of cable, overhead line and sub-station networks from low voltage to 11kV with the potential to explore further scope of works up to and including 132kV network development. The contract will also support the work of E.ON UK’s Energy Services business, in providing new network connections for both domestic and commercial customers.

The contract extension is for an initial period of four years, with provision for a five-year extension, and is valued in excess of £20m per year.
