Cordless reciprocating saw with blade changing system

Metabo Corporation has introduced its first cordless reciprocating saw, which features Metabo’s 'Quick' blade changing system for easy tool-free blade changes. The ASE 18 Cordless Reciprocating Saw is ideal for a wide range of carpentry, roofing, and heating and air conditioning applications, including rough cutting and sawing, cutting metal pipes, cutting door and window moldings, sawing wood containing nails and screws, disassembling windows and doors, as well as cutting installation tails, cable ridges, cable ducts and aluminum shafts.

The new cordless reciprocating saw features a tool-less adjustable depth stop, which controls the length of the cut and allows the operator to use the entire length of the blade evenly, extending blade life. The ergonomically designed handle reduces operator fatigue and allows closer access to difficult to reach locations. The two-finger power switch increases user comfort for longer operation.

The ASE 18 utilizes Metabo’s new, patented air-cooled battery system to increase performance and keep the tool working longer between battery charges. The system cools both the battery and the charger, keeping the battery at the optimum charging temperature. This results in 30% faster charging and an increased service life of up to 2,000 charges.

The ASE 18 cordless reciprocating saw delivers 0-2,700 strokes per minute, with a stroke length of 1”. The saw is 19.5” long, weighs 7.7 lbs. and comes furnished with a charger, battery pack and assortment of saw blades.
