Panasonic launches new Super Dynamic III dome camera

Panasonic Security Systems has introduced its latest achievement in the company’s line of Super Dynamic III cameras. New WV-CW964 Outdoor Dome Camera’s will help security professionals tackle the most challenging outdoor video surveillance applications. With an Ingress Protection, IP, rating of 66, the WV-CW964 is ideal for outdoor use such as parking lots, airports, train stations, amusement/theme parks or highways and city streets. The housing’s built-in fan and heater ensure an operating temperature range of -40°C to +50°C, and the built-in sun shield permits camera installation in direct sunlight.

Among the many advanced features of the camera is the consistently superior image provided by SDIII technology. Regardless of contrast within a single scene or variable lighting conditions, the camera’s 128X dynamic range and pixel-based contrast image correction circuitry ensure accurate reproduction. An outstanding 50dB signal to noise ratio and 540 line resolution or 570 line resolution takes advantage of today’s DVRs by capturing fine details, and new digital color circuitry processes color for accurate reproduction of even pale or dimly lit colors.

The WV-CW964 also features Day/Night operation which automatically switches between color and b/w imaging modes depending on ambient lighting conditions. In addition, the unit’s Auto Focus feature and 30X optical zoom capability are complemented by an auto image stabilizer to prevent blurring from high winds or vibration, maintaining clear, vivid images with smooth PTZ motion.

Additional camera intelligence capabilities, include scene change detection. Any interference such as a blocked lens or defocusing is instantly detected and activates an alarm. The Auto Tracking function allows the camera to follow the largest movement in the image and automatically pans and tilts to keep the subject in the center of the image. The 360° high speed pan boasts a speed of 400°/second. For more controlled panning movement, the unit’s proprietary control chip, brushless DC motor and microprocessor with optimized speed profile can deliver super fine pan control of 0.065°/second.

The WV-CW964 also offers Image Hold to eliminate screen blurring; Digital Flip for continuous tracking underneath the camera; Zone Masking to prevent privacy infringement; Motion Detector for integration with external devices; Patrol Learn to store and reproduce/perform manual operations; Camera ID for text display to identify individual cameras; and Alarm Inputs/Outputs for control of external recording devices.
