Danes are going to clean up the Dundas Peninsula

The Danish Government has established a working group for environmental clean-up on the Dundas peninsula at the Thule Air Base. Dundas was formerly owned by the US, but has since February 2003 been under Danish auspices.

The project will remediate and improve the environment on the Dundas peninsula for the benefit of local citizens, who were forced to resettle during the Cold War, but who will now be able to re-visit the area. Ramboll, one of the leading Danish consulting companies, and its partners have been selected to assist this working group.

The project implementation period is December 2005 – October 2006.
