| Spirax Sarco offers EMCO Vortex flow meter line Spirax Sarco, Inc. offers EMCO in-line vortex shedding flow meters. The Vortex PhD accurately measures liquids, gas or steam for improved overall plant control, yet with lower maintenance and total cost of ownership than other flow meter technologies. As the industry's first fully-welded sensor construction, the Vortex PhD has no moving parts or holes that can clog, no internal gaskets that could fail and no need for bypass piping installation. With microprocessor-based electronics, a variety of product configurations and rugged industrial construction, the Vortex PhD is designed for a wide range of process and HVAC applications. Factory calibration and programming makes setup straightforward. Accuracy is ± 0.7% of rate liquids and ± 1.0% gas and steam, with ± 0.15% of rate repeatability. With the Menu-driven EZ-Logic user interface, the Vortex PhD allows for local programming. Its output signals are scalable 4-20-mA current and scalable frequency/pulse 0-10-kHz over the HART 268 communications protocol. A local LCD screen displays both flow rate and totalized flow. Available in carbon or stainless steel, the Vortex PhD flow meter has a process temperature rating of -40°F to 750°F and a pressure rating to ANSI class 600. Process connection options include ANSI B16.5 class 150, 300 or 600; DIN 2501; PN16; PN40; and PN64, for installation in 1-in. to 12-in. lines. The Vortex PhD carries FM, CSA and CENELEC certifications. Spirax Sarco Spirax Sarco is the provider of steam system solutions, dedicated to providing knowledge, service and products for the control and efficient use of steam and other industrial fluids. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
