New larger sizes of Coolpoint flowmeter

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. introduces larger sizes of its CoolPoint vortex shedding flowmeter for measuring and monitoring higher flows of coolant or water in industrial machinery. The CoolPoint meter is now offered in two new pipe sizes: 3 inches, which provides a flow rate of 300 gallons per minute, and 4 inches, with a flow rate of 600 gallons per minute. These larger sizes join the CoolPoint line which also includes pipe sizes ranging from ¼ inch to 2 inches, providing flow rates ranging from .4 of a gallon per minute to 200 gallons per minute.

CoolPoint flowmeters are designed to provide consistent flows of water, water-based machine coolant and water/glycol mixture. Repeatability is +/-1 percent of actual flow, and accuracy is +/-2 percent of actual flow.

The CoolPoint flowmeters are built for effective measurement of recycled and filtered coolant that may contain particles. The electronic meter has no moving parts to stick or coat, thereby eliminating potential for clogging. Applications include cooling loops using low viscosity, clean or dirty water-like liquids compatible with brass, PVDF and Viton.

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. also introduces the larger sizes in its CalPoint flowmeter and temperature transmitter. CalPoint is a version of CoolPoint designed for flow applications involving heat removal. CalPoint has the added capability of monitoring temperature readings and transmitting them to a process controller. The meter provides temperature readings ranging from 32°F to 210°F, which can be expressed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius on the local LED readout.

The meters have a scaled pulse output as a standard selectable option. This scaled pulse output increases their ability to measure, monitor and control the total amount of liquid used in a process.CoolPoint and CalPoint are easy to specify, install and use. They are sold by pipe size, and all other features are selectable by pushing buttons on the meter face.
