| Hensley Field Operations Center named Gold Green The City of Dallas's operations center for car fleet maintenance has received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). HDR, with a local office in Dallas, was the LEED consultant for the design-build team, and provided engineering services for the renovated facility. The Gold rating is the second highest attainable under the USGBC LEED program. The 80, 000-square-foot Hensley Field Operations Center is on an old Naval Air Station campus, which was granted back to the City of Dallas by the federal government. The center's $4-million renovation was completed with close coordination with city staff and other consultants. As the first architectural firm to join the USGBC, HDR has been involved with the development and launch of the LEED Green Building Rating System since it began in 1995. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
