Bouygues Construction to recruit over 7,000 people in 2006

On the basis of strong orders in 2005 and favourable conditions in the construction sector, Bouygues Construction should recruited approximately 7, 000 people throughout the world in 2006, including 3, 000 in France (as compared with 2, 500 in 2005, a 20% increase).

In France, executives and engineers account for 37% of the total number of people to be recruited (half of whom with previous work experience), while clerical, technical and supervisory staff represent 20% and workers 43%. The broad range of business areas and positions on offer clearly illustrates the variety of business activities at Bouygues Construction.

In order to better meet its recruitment needs, at the beginning of January Bouygues Construction set up Job Search, an entity dedicated to the recruitment of experienced engineers and executives. Working alongside the company’s existing HR departments, the team operates as an in-house recruitment agency, serving all business areas. The job search unit’s overview of the group’s needs enables it to quickly identify targeted job profiles using a systematic sourcing system. It also contributes towards raising the company’s profile on various media platforms (popular recruitment websites, the press, etc.) and has already forged partnerships with a handful of large French temping agencies.

Bouygues Construction employs 40, 000 people in 60 countries, and expects to generate sales of approximately 6 billion euros in 2005.
