| Jacobs receives contracts from Shell and Los Angeles Unified School District Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. have received a contract from Shell to provide front-end design as well as project and construction management services for Shell's facilities program at their U.S. locations. This multi-site program comprises new administration buildings and upgrades to existing facilities such as laboratories and control centers at Shell's major refining and chemical complexes. The core staff executing this program resides in the Jacobs office in Houston, Texas, with site support from the company's operations in Baton Rouge, La., and Cypress, Calif. Jacobs is also leveraging the architectural, engineering, and program management capabilities throughout their global organization. A subsidiary company of Jacobs Engineering received a contract from Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to provide construction management services for LAUSD's new construction program. LAUSD selected Jacobs to provide various construction management services for Phase Two of the district's Master Plan, which includes numerous new school buildings. Specifically, Jacobs is providing constructability, value engineering, scheduling, and estimating services as LAUSD modernizes and upgrades the quality of its facilities. The plan's overall goal is to improve the learning environment and ensure a positive educational atmosphere by providing elementary, middle school, and high school students with new and up-to-date campuses that are safe and technologically advanced.
