Centex and Partners come together to Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge

A group of diverse partners, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, The Conservation Fund and Centex Homes, joined together with the local community to enhance and expand recreation opportunities at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge at Delaware Bay.

Over the next two days, the volunteers, including local employees from Centex Homes, will build a new handicapped accessible observation tower at Fowler Beach. The skilled group will also create a 200- foot section of raised boardwalk, which will include two bridges within the refuge public use area and connect five existing trails at Prime Hook into one loop. Once connected, this six-mile trail will become one of Sussex County's most popular walking destinations, according to Jonathan Schafler, refuge manager.
