New self-clinching threaded standoffs

Patented PEM 'Type DSOS' self-clinching threaded standoffs can be installed close to edges in thin metal sheets and offer a reliable method to stack or space components in an assembly. They can serve ideally where space for fastening hardware may be limited and are RoHS compliant. These stainless standoffs provide strong and reusable metal threads to provide secure attachment and enable component disassembly when required. They are available in two lengths and in thread sizes #4-40 and M3. The standoffs can be installed flush in steel or aluminum sheets as thin as .037"/0.94mm and with minimum centerline-to-edge distances of .126"/3.2mm.

Their installation is quick and easy. The standoff is inserted through a mounting hole with the correct diameter and into an anvil. Keeping punch and anvil surfaces parallel, sufficient squeezing force then can be applied until the standoff's head embeds flush in the sheet. Using a Pemserter press can deliver best results. Upon installation, the fastener becomes a permanent part of the metal assembly. Mating hardware completes final component attachment.
