| Exclusive new additions enhance Pella windows and doors Pella Corporation will unveil new decorative details for windows and doors to personalize homes and businesses. Three options being introduced at the International Builders' Show in Orlando, include decorative panels created to hang exclusively between panes of glass in Pella Designer Series windows or patio doors, decorative glass for Pella storm doors and rich new finish options for Pella fiberglass entry doors. Pella's new decorative panels for Designer Series windows and patio doors complement the stylish line of between-the-glass window fashions. Designer Series is Pella's wood window and patio door collection that offers snap-in, snap-out blinds and shades in 25 different colors. The decorative panels can safely and easily be added between the panes of glass of Designer Series windows or patio doors. Available in a wide variety of stock colors and designs to match virtually any decor, Pella's decorative panels can also be completely customized to precisely match fabrics, wallpaper or artwork. Other enhancements to the Designer Series collection for 2006 include fabric panels and panels that simulate stained glass to insert between the panes of glass. An expanded grille offering is also available on Pella's Designer Series collection, including top-row only, 14-lite prairie, New England, cross and 12-lite prairie, in addition to the classic traditional and 9-lite prairie grille styles. The Pella Designer Series collection is highly energy-efficient, with double- and triple-pane glazing options to help keep a home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Based on computer simulations, double-paned glass can reduce energy costs up to 17 percent and triple-paned glass can decrease energy bills by as much as 28 percent, compared to single-pane wood windows. Pella's distinctive between-the-glass blinds or shades also contribute to increased overall energy savings. In addition, Pella's latest innovation helps make your home or business a haven from the annoying noise of today's harried lives. Designer Series windows and doors with triple-glazing and laminated glass can reduce exterior sounds by more than 90 percent. This is at least double the sound performance of a single-glazed window. By comparison, an eight-inch concrete block reduces sound by 95 percent. Quality storm doors can help lower a home's heating and cooling bills. Pella storm door added to an entryway can reduce energy loss through the entryway by up to 45 percent. Installing a storm door is quicker and easier than ever thanks to the Pella Express Install system, available on full view doors. With Express Install, the storm door is pre-drilled for a perfect fit -- saving time and money. A front entryway is another place to add a personal touch and make a statement. The latest option in Pella entry doors is a mahogany-grain fiberglass door. As with all Pella entry doors, the new mahogany-grain fiberglass door comes standard with the exclusive Pella AdvantagePlus Protection System that combines three key components. First, Pella entry doors are protected by an aluminum clad exterior frame that is virtually maintenance free. It doesn't need painting and it won't flake, crack or peel. Next, the AdvantagePlus system has a tough snap-in aluminum exterior brick mould trim that extends the maintenance-free benefits to the area around the door. Finally, AdvantagePlus features a rot-resistant design. Other finish options available on Pella fiberglass entry doors include smooth-grain, fir-grain and oak-grain. All Pella entry doors meet or exceed Energy Star requirements in all 50 states, which translates into a more comfortable home year-round with lower heating and cooling bills. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
