| Technip awarded contract for a petrochemicals unit in Belgium Technip has been awarded by Total Petrochemicals a turnkey contract for the construction of a demonstration unit at the petrochemicals complex at Feluy (Belgium). Through this project, Total Petrochemicals will demonstrate the industrial feasibility of a production of light olefins (family of molecules including in particular ethylene and propylene) and more specifically of propylene from methanol that can be obtained directly from coal or gas. This project falls within the framework of a €40 million global investment on the site. Technip’s operations and engineering centers in Antwerp (Belgium) and in Lyon (France) will participate in the design and construction of this unit. This unit will have a fully modular design in order to shorten the construction delay and allow for a start up in 2007. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
