Technip awarded project management contract by La Poste

Technip has been awarded by La Poste a lump sum services contract worth approximately €3.5 million. This contract involves the project management of the technical integration for the first two automated sorting facilities to be located in the Val de Loire and Lorraine regions (France), and also includes an option for the next five automated sorting facilities.

The contract falls within the framework of La Poste’s “Mail Quality Project, ” the largest mail modernization program it has ever launched. Each 20, 000 to 30, 000 m˛ facility will automatically process 3 to 5 million letters per day. With an overall investment of nearly €3.4 billion between now and 2010, the “Mail Quality Project” also represents one of the largest investment programs in France.

The facilities in the Val de Loire and Lorraine regions are slated to begin operations at the end of 2006.
