| Hill International to expand Rijeka port Hill International, the worldwide construction consulting firm, has announced that it has been awarded a nearly $2.4 million contract by the Port of Rijeka Authority to provide project management services in connection with the $40 million first phase of the Rijeka Gateway project, a proposed $264 million expansion of the Rijeka Port. The project will begin in December 2005 and is expected to be completed by December 2010. The Rijeka Gateway Project's objective is to restore, rehabilitate and expand Rijeka Port so that its role as a major port serving Croatia and Central Europe is enhanced. In addition to the modernization of existing port facilities, the project releases the central part of the port area for commercial development and will allow the area's residents and visitors to access that part of the coastal areas. The project, designed by Japan's Nippon Koei, is the largest project that the World Bank has ever financed in Croatia. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
