| Caterpillar acquires of leading Italian hose manufacturer Caterpillar Inc. announced it has completed the purchase of Rapisarda Industries, a leading Italian industrial hose manufacturer. The acquisition follows a joint venture agreement between the two companies, first established in 1994. With Caterpillar's purchase of a majority interest in the business, Rapisarda becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar. Caterpillar has five facilities for its industrial hose and coupling products in the United States, and three in the United Kingdom, Western Europe and Japan.
