| Mott MacDonald to build a power station in Barbados Mott MacDonald has been awarded a contract by The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited to design and manage a new 60MW power station development. The new US$100 million plant, to be located on a greenfield site on the north side of Barbados, will be based on either slow-speed reciprocating engine or combined cycle gas turbine technology. It is being designed in light of the Barbados Government’s outline plans to introduce natural gas fuel via a new submarine pipeline or Barge from Trinidad and Tobago. The main fuel to be used will be either natural gas or heavy fuel oil.
