ProLogis to Develop Central Japan International Airport

ProLogis, a global provider of distribution facilities and services, will develop a new, 645, 800-square-foot (60, 000 square meters) industrial facility next to Central Japan International Airport outside Nagoya.

The airport, which opened in February 2005, is situated on a reclaimed island in Japan's Ise Bay and is expected to eventually handle up to 300, 000 tons of air freight per year. ProLogis' multi-customer, five-story building will be located on a six-acre property (2.4 hectares) adjacent to the airport -- one of the island's only remaining parcels available for development. ProLogis also has a first right of refusal on an additional 4.4 acres (1.8 hectares) at the site. The facility, to be called ProLogis Parc Centrair, will serve transport, logistics and manufacturing companies with operations in and around Nagoya, one of the country's primary industrial hubs.
