Trespa introduces Mystic Metallics for façades

Trespa International has introduced a collection of new finishes for its successful range of Trespa Meteon architectural panels that will help to transform the exterior look of buildings. The new collection consists of two Mystic Metallics and four metallic colours. These materials offer subtle colour changes throughout the day and provide Architects with a stunning new tool to design building façades in ways that will enhance their ideas and help to create a unique identity. Key characteristic of Mystic Silver and Mystic Green is their ability to change colour and in so doing create an ever changing appearance. How light falls on the façade means that the appearance of the building will subtly change throughout the day. This change is based on the iridescence of the finish and the way light is refracted, much in the same way as the colours alter across fish scales or inside an oyster shell.

Mystic Silver passes through all shades from yellowish to bluish green and achieves a metallic look. Mystic Green changes from a warm yellowish green to cold turquoise green with hints of silver and metal. Natural daylight and the sun create depth and give a mystical quality where formality is replaced with the more free-flowing organic imagery of nature.

In addition, four other metallic colours have been added to the range - Urban Grey, Mustard Yellow, Amber and Amethyst. These again exploit variations of colour with depth and are designed to add gloss and sparkle to a building. Their effect and appearance can be further altered because the panels can be fixed in two different directions.

Trespa Meteon is a flat architectural panel, based on thermosetting resins, homogeneously reinforced with wood fibres and manufactured under high pressure and at high temperatures, using proprietary Electron Beam Cured technology. Panels have an integrated decorative surface and are highly suited for ventilated façade systems which combine innovative aesthetics with high insulation values and perfect building physics, contributing to a healthy indoor climate.

Trespa Meteon is extremely weather resistant. Sun, rain or moisture do not affect the panel's surface or core. Both UV resistance and colour stability are very high with a 4-5 classification on the International Grey Scale. Large or rapid temperature fluctuations from -20°C to +80°C do not affect the panel's properties, stability or appearance. Trespa Meteon has been subjected to stringent Xenon testing and more than meets all requirements of European standard EN 438 - part 6.
