Acciona Energía receives the Prince Felipe of Spain Prize

Acciona President José Manuel Entrecanales received the Prince Felipe of Spain Prize for Business Excellence in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, which was awarded to Acciona Energía in a ceremony held in Madrid.

Acciona Energía is the world leader in the renewables sector. At 30th November 2005 it had installed 2, 749 MW of clean energies, of which 1, 544 MW belong to the Group. In wind power it has installed 2, 632 MW in 97 wind farms in 7 countries, most of them also operated by the company, and has a further 409 MW under construction. It has three biomass plants -one of them a 25 MW straw-fired facility- and 59 MW in small hydro power plants. In the field of solar energy it has installed more than 10 MW of photovoltaic power -including the plant with the largest capacity in Spain, property of the Group- and 8, 700 m2 of thermal panels. It produces 1, 500 KW turbines using in-house technology, and in the field of biofuels produces homologated quality biodiesel from first-use vegetable oils.
