| Fitch Downgrades Saint-Gobain Fitch Ratings has downgraded Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA's ratings to Senior Unsecured 'A-' (A minus) from 'A' and Short-term 'F2' from 'F1' and removed them from Rating Watch Negative. A Negative Outlook has been assigned to the Long-term rating. The downgrades reflect the more leveraged financial profile of Saint-Gobain following the completion of the significant debt-financed acquisition of BPB for about GBP3.9 billion. Saint-Gobain is a France-based leader in building materials with 2004 revenues of about EUR32bn.
