October 2005 Construction At $1,131.7 Billion Annual Rate

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced that construction spending during October 2005 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1, 131.7 billion, 0.7 percent (±1.8%) above the revised September estimate of $1, 124.1 billion.

The October figure is 7.9 percent (±2.2%) above the October 2004 estimate of $1, 048.5 billion.

During the first 10 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $930.9 billion, 8.8 percent (±1.8%) above the $855.3 billion for the same period in 2004.

November 2005 data will be released on January 3, 2006.
