New development at Edinburgh Airport

The latest in a long line of ambitious construction projects at the Edinburgh airport has been launched on Wednesday 30th November. Linking Edinburgh Airport’s main terminal building with six new boarding gates, work to build a new £14.5m pier will start with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Margaret Smith MSP and Richard Jeffrey, managing director of Edinburgh Airport.

The new pier will be used principally for domestic travellers but can be adapted for use with international travellers, if necessary. Its first floor level features a full length open lounge, retail outlets and business class lounges.

Work on the project is scheduled for completion by late summer 2006.
