Aberdeen Airprot plans £10m runway extension

Aberdeen Airport will lodge plans for a £10 million runway extension as part of an ambitious 25 year plan to massively expand international services to and from the north east.

BAA Aberdeen, which owns Aberdeen Airport, is to submit plans for a 300 metre northern extension to the main runway in a bid to attract new international services to the city.

In the next ten years alone, BAA Aberdeen will invest around £50 million on improvements to the terminal and airfield.

Opened in 1931, Aberdeen Airport is the oldest of BAA Scotland’s three airports and the fastest growing.
