New Torch Wear protective clothing announced

A new line of highly functional heat-resistant protective clothing has been announced by Torch Wear. The clothing, designed for welding and other high heat tasks is made of CarbonX fabric. CarbonX fabric provides superior protection while being comfortable enough to wear next to the skin. When exposed to intense heat or flame, CarbonX fibers will carbonize and then expand, dramatically reducing the oxygen content within the fabric. Unlike many of the most widely used fire-retardant fabrics currently available, CarbonX will not char, shrink or burn when exposed to heat and flame.

CarbonX fabric is not a chemically treated material. Rather, it is a yarn created by spinning oxidized polyacrylonitrile fiber with an Aramid strengthening agent.

The Torch Wear line of protective clothing includes overalls, aprons, and coats. Additionally, a unique forearm sleeve and heat sink pads are available. Overalls and coats come in SM through XXL sizes, with XXXL and XXXXL being available by special order.
