| Rypos expands with move to larger facilities Rypos, Inc. is relocating to a 12,000 square-foot facility that the company purchased just off the Route 495 beltway. Located at 260 Hopping Brook Road in Holliston, MA, the building will house the company’s corporate headquarters, manufacturing and R&D labs under one roof. The move from its location in Medway, MA will be completed by November 31. Rypos also introduced two active diesel emission filter product lines for engines whose output ranges from 100 kW to 2 MW. The Rypos ADPF, is designed for older diesel engines, operating on high-sulfur diesel fuel. The Rypos ADPF achieves total particulate matter reductions exceeding 60%. The ADPF is suited for areas where low sulfur fuel is unavailable. The Rypos ADPF/C is configured with a diesel oxidation catalyst to reduce particulate matter by up to 90% while cutting carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions as well. ADPF/C is designed for newer engines using low sulfur diesel fuel. Applications typically include auxiliary and backup generators, marine engines, oil fields, irrigation, locomotives, and off-road construction equipment. Both products serve the retrofit and OEM markets. Rypos’ active regeneration technology is a vast improvement over passive ceramic filters that need high exhaust temperatures to regenerate; which is not dependable when engines run intermittently or in cold climates. The Rypos ADPF and ADPF/C, rely on banks of sintered metal filter elements. When a microprocessor senses that the filters need regeneration, it automatically sends an electric current through the conductive fibers to heat them and burn off accumulated particles. In addition to existing markets, Rypos ADPF and ADPF/C filters, are being evaluated by the mining industry for underground applications where clean air requirements are extraordinary. The filters will meet US and Canadian standards including those established by the bellwether California Air Resources Board. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
