Barratt first for regeneration

Barratt has been recognised as Britain’s leading urban regenerator. The housebuilder has scooped the “Best Planning and Land Regeneration Strategy” award, sponsored by English Partnerships, in this year’s Building Communities Awards.

The awards, organised by the influential Building magazine, reward those housing organisations at the forefront of innovation, change and best practice.

The Group currently builds over 14, 300 homes a year, over 11, 500 of them on land which has had a previous use, and reclaims over 700 acres of brown land each year, more than any other housebuilder.

This is the latest in a string of recent successes for the Group including taking a record 51 Quality Awards in the NHBC Pride in the Job campaign, being voted Major Housebuilder of the Year and winning more Greenleaf environmental awards than any other housebuilder, for the fourth year running.

Barratt is currently building on 450 developments nationwide, at prices from around £72, 000 to £2 million.
