| Granite Construction Awarded $68.9 Million Freeway Reconstruction Project Granite Construction Incorporated announced that Granite Construction Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded a $68.9 million freeway interchange and realignment project by the California Department of Transportation. The project is located in Merced, California, and will be completed by Granite's Fresno-based Central Valley branch. The project involves the construction of a new interchange at Mission Avenue, 14 bridges, nine box culverts and the modification of three miles of State Route 99 between McHenry Road and Childs Avenue. Scope of the work also includes approximately 17, 000 linear feet of drainage pipe, 35, 000 cubic yards of concrete paving and 63, 000 tons of asphalt paving. In addition, approximately 240, 000 tons of granular base rock will be used on the project as well as approximately 1.0 million cubic yards of imported fill material.
