Peter Marks to become chairman and CEO of Bosch

Bosch announced Kurt Liedtke, chairman, president and CEO of Robert Bosch Corporation since January 2001, will retire effective December 31, 2005. Peter Marks, member of the Board of Management of the Bosch Group headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, will succeed Liedtke as chairman, president and CEO of Robert Bosch Corporation, effective January 1, 2006.

As part of his responsibilities as a member of the Bosch Group Board of Management, Marks will retain his current responsibility for worldwide manufacturing coordination and investment planning, and assume responsibility for the North and South America region, worldwide activities of the Security Systems Division and environmental protection within the Bosch Group.

A member of the Board of Management since 2002, Marks joined the company in 1977, working in the production engineering department in the Reutlingen, Germany plant. In 1992, Marks was appointed plant manager of the company's Anderson, S.C., facility, and became plant manager of the Bosch Charleston, S.C., facility in 1995. Prior to being named to the Board of Management, Marks served as president and executive vice president of technology, Body Electronics Division.
