Landmark Structures breaks ground on new plant

A state-of-the-art steel fabrication plant for Landmark Structures in Decatur, Texas will be the centerpiece of the 400-acre Decatur Landmark Industrial Park located at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 81/287 and FM 2264.

The new facility will enable Landmark to fabricate steel tank sections that meet the industry standards for AWWA D100 specifications. The site is also served by rail which, combined with the initial infrastructure and utilities, will allow for future expansion of Landmark, as well as other industrial users in the park.

Landmark selected Plano-based Hill & Wilkinson, Ltd. as the design builder for the new facility. The facility will consolidate current steel plate fabrication operations and includes a plasma table, new plate rollers, and full bay bridge cranes scheduled for completion in the spring of 2006.

Designed by Richard Wright Architects, the plant operations will be flexible to meet the various tank sizes and shapes required for each composite tank. In addition, the facility is designed to accommodate Landmark's expansion plans.
