New Japanese facility in Scotland

OKI Europe Ltd's new operation was opened in Cumbernauld, Scotland. The company accepted a £900, 000 Regional Selective Assistance grant offer to support the construction of their new Printing Solutions facility.

OKI Printing Solutions is a subsidiary of parent company, Oki Electric Industry Company Limited, based in Tokyo. Oki Electric's business divisions comprise Printer Business, Semiconductor Business, and Information and Telecommunications Business. It was established in 1881 and has an annual turnover of approximately $6.4 billion.

The company has been investing in Scotland for 18 years and employs around 600 people.

The new facility, OKI Printing Solutions, is a new building which has been built on the existing OKI site in Cumbernauld. It will handle the production of supplies for computer printers and secure 250 jobs.
