| Otis Elevator earns prestigious award for excellence Otis, a unit of United Technologies Corporation, was awarded the prestigious Quality Innovation Partnership Award (QUIP) for excellent customer service by M+W Zander, a leading facility management company. Otis Elevator Company is the world's largest manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways. With headquarters in Farmington, Connecticut, Otis employs 60, 000 people, offers products and services in more than 200 countries and territories and maintains more than 1.45 million elevators and escalators worldwide. United Technologies Corp., based in Hartford, Connecticut, is a diversified company providing high technology products and services to the commercial building and to the aerospace industries. M+W Zander, a nearly 100-year-old global company based in Stuttgart, Germany, has presented the QUIP award for the past six years. Each year, M+W Zander’s building managers in Germany review the service performance of more than 50 of their vendors, assessing quality of services, management, innovation and technology. Otis was one of four companies to receive the QUIP award this year.
