| Oxfam Begins Reconstruction Of Tsunami-Affected Schools In Sri Lanka Oxfam has begun reconstruction of the tsunami-damaged schools in Sri Lanka. The foundation stone for the first school to be rebuilt Oxfam, was laid on Friday by Oxfam International’s Lead Regional Manager Chris Eijkemans at Shariputra Mahavidyalaya at Ahangama in Galle. Oxfam’s rebuilding schools project is being implemented through its partner Education International, a global organisation representing teaching professionals. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Oxfam (Novib), Education International and the Education Ministry for the reconstruction of these schools. The schools to be rebuilt by Oxfam include one in Galle, one in Matara, one school with buildings in two different locations in Kalutara three in Trincomalee, two in Batticaloa, one in Ampara and two in Mullaitivu.
