| British Architectural Library receives national recognition The British Architectural Library at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has been recognised as having outstanding national and international importance under the Designation Scheme by The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA). The largest and most comprehensive resource in Britain for research and information on all aspects of architecture, the British Architectural Library was established in 1834 as part of the RIBA. The Designation Scheme aims to identify and celebrate the best museum, library and archive collections in England. It was launched in 1997 for museums only, with two further rounds in 1998 and 1999, and extended to libraries and archives in 2005. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
