| Interbuild 2006 no gamble for building industry Interbuild, the UK's premier construction exhibition, is proving to be an 'odds on success' with the building industry after having a big presence at a winning race day. The Interbuild team sponsored the 3.25 race at the 'Builders Day' at Lingfield Park, which offered builders and associated trades the chance to network, discover more about Interbuild - and win a little money on the horses at the same time. Builders Day was attended by Gordon Thomas, the Interbuild Event Director, and raised expectations for the show - which takes place from April 23-27 at the NEC. Domestic appliance manufacturer Bosch, Professional Builder magazine and tabloid newspaper The Sun were also involved in the event. Gordon Thomas said: "Most builders already know Interbuild is the best event for making contacts, finding out about innovative new products and expanding business. "But this race day offered us the perfect chance to raise the profile of the event a little further - as well as having a little flutter at the same time." As part of the exhibition's role in the event Interbuild banners were in place on the race course, both at the finishing line and in the paddock. The winner of the 3.25, the Interbuild sponsored race, was Outlook No 2, which was ridden by jockey Seb Saunders. And the Interbuild team also chose the 'best turned out horse', with Sofelia being named as the winning filly. Lingfield Park identified the fact that builders and associated trades visit the racecourse on a regular basis, as well as the builders merchants and suppliers that provide them with tools and supplies. Gordon Thomas added: "Although we might not have had much luck with the horses the event was a great success because many traders did not understand the huge opportunities Interbuild offers to inform on best practice, bring buyers and suppliers together, and create lasting relationships. "And many people did not realise it is possible to get free tickets to Interbuild - therefore saving £20 each - simply by registering on the Interbuild websitehttp://www.interbuild.com/." write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
