| JDavis Architects To Compete In “Canstruction” Competition JDavis Architects, PLLC, a full-service architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firm, has announced that the company will be participating in a national “Canstruction” design/build competition with proceeds to benefit the Food Bank of North Carolina. Canstruction is a unique competition where competing teams, lead by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. JDavis Architects are currently seeking corporate and individual sponsors to help fund their project – to construct a pair of urban “Canstruction” boots made from 3, 000 cans of food. The competition will take place at Raleigh’s Exploris Museum on October 23rd and 24th, and the “canscupltures” will be open to public viewing until January 8th. Canstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. At the close of the exhibitions, all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
