New 799 Electronic Caliper

The L.S. Starrett Company announced the new 799 Series Electronic Calipers with design and accuracy features that have made Starrett Tools the choice of machinists for decades. Part of the Starrett Global Series, the 799 Calipers are light, comfortable, easy-to-use and have a slim, streamlined profile. These electronic calipers feature zero at any position, inch/mm conversion, a large, clear, highly visible LCD display, and long battery life. They are attractively priced and available in 0-6” (150mm), 0-8” (200mm) and 0-12” (300mm) models, each furnished in a fitted, protective case.

The Starrett 799 Series' light, ergonomic design incorporates a large, easy-to-read LCD display with a .32” high readout. Simple, push-button features provide zero at any position and instant inch/millimeter conversion.

Resolution is .0005” (0.01mm) and linear accuracy meets DIN862 standard. To prolong battery life, Starrett 799 Calipers automatically shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity, while retaining the last measuring position.

The body, slide, and jaws of the 799 are made from hardened stainless steel for long life. A conveniently located thumb wheel provides fine adjustment and a lock screw is provided to hold the slide in position. Each model includes an integrated depth rod. The jaw depths range from 1-1/2” outside, 5/8” inside for the 6” model; 2” outside, 5/8” inside for the 8” model; and 2-1/2”, 23/32” inside for the 12” model.

Accessories include a Center Distance Attachment and Depth Attachment for the 6” and 8” models. A Deluxe Padded Case is optional for the 6” (150mm) model and finished wood cases are available for the 8”(200mm) and 12”(300mm) models. The 6” and 8” models are also offered with a Standard Letter of Certification.
