| Slip-Klip provides solution A seemingly innocuous but ingenious fixing has solved a dilemma for contractors when installing steel framing systems manufactured and supplied by the Hadley Group and is expected to save considerable sums by reducing build time and snagging costs. Slip-Klip, designed and developed by Structural Sections Framing – SSF, a Hadley Group company, is a simple but highly effective alternative to the traditional method of ‘blocking and bracing’. Where steel frame ‘infill’ walling is created from stud and track sections and in order to facilitate floor deflection within the building, it has been normal practice to allow the vertical stud to move within its head track. This often involves the inclusion of expensive and time consuming ‘blocking and bracing’. Slip-Klip solves this problem by simply being able to move freely in the head track until ‘locked’ into position to hold the vertical stud firmly and securely. Consequently, Slip-Klip is quicker, cheaper and more reliable than alternative methods of fixing. Slip-Klip is the subject of UK Patent Application No 0421108.2 (Foreign Rights Reserved). write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
