| New high convection tempering furnace generation At the Vitrum Glass Exhibition 2005 Tamglass used the opportunity to launch a new high convection tempering furnace generation based on its world-leading tempering technology know-how. The new generation system now launched is dedicated to the tempering of Super Low-E (E=0.04) products mainly for IG-units and other architectural glass applications. The efficiency of the new patented profiled convection heating system with ultra speed convection blower technology has been measured to bring up to 50% more capacity than a traditional furnace. In extended test runs the continuous processing of 4 mm (window and patio door glass sizes with a 65% bed utilization) has been carried out with a world-record Super Low-E glass processing speed of 33 sec/mm. The maximum reliability of the system has been one of the key design factors; the convection booster units are located outside the furnace where their maintenance is greatly facilitated. The launch of the new high convection furnace is a mark of another significant expansion of Tamglass core technology.
