| Ashland Distribution features ACRASTRIP1 solvent Eliminating harsh chemical exposures during equipment cleaning is now achievable with ACRASTRIP composite resin remover (CRR), an acetone replacement that helps companies meet environmental and competitive goals. Now available, from Ashland Distribution, a division of Ashland Inc., ACRASTRIP solvent was designed for the composites resin industry. ACRASTRIP CRR was developed by U.S. Polychemical Corp. and is a semi-aqueous, acetone replacement that is non-flammable and enjoys a low-hazard profile. In environments where ACRASTRIP is used, the product releases no hazardous air pollutants and features a low volatile organic compound rating. The patented product is listed in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment program. ACRASTRIP solvent is effective for use with cured and uncured polyester, vinylester, epoxy, urethane, methacrylate and other resin systems. Composite fabricators who use ACRASTRIP CRR find an immediate reduction in waste disposal issues that normally surround acetone because most ACRASTRIP solids can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste. In addition Ashland Distribution’s Environmental Services can assist businesses with the safe disposal of residue solids. The compound completely replaces most acetone uses as a cleaning solvent and is being quickly accepted as the primary cleaning solvent in fiberglass shops. Cleaning applications include, but are not limited to, rollers, internal mix guns, external mix and gelcoat guns, putty/adhesive equipment and wiping in the finishing area. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
