| Metabo adds new heavy duty MHE 65 SDS-Max Chipping Hammer Metabo Corporation has introduced a new rotary hammer for chipping and light demolition in stone, concrete, and brick. The MHE 65 SDS-Max Chipping Hammer is ideal for sizing concrete openings in doors and windows, chasing cracks on floor repairs, wall chasing, or embedding pipe and conduit into concrete or block walls, as well as surface preparation and removal of overpour and splash in concrete work. With an optional accessory, the MHE 65 can also be used in the electrical and cable industries for installing ground rods. The 10.5 amp motor provides 1, 325 to 2, 650 bpm and 1.0 to 10.0 joules of single blow energy. Metabo's Vario-Tacho-Constamatic electronic speed control enables the tool to maintain a virtually constant speed between load and no-load, maximizing the impact efficiency. User comfort and safety are integral to the design of the new hammer. Ergonomic, rounded-off areas on the handle and motor casing allow users to find a comfortable working position. The large rear handle enables two-handed operation in harder applications, and the gear switch is extra large for easy operation, even when the user is wearing gloves. Vibration reduction construction and rubber insulated handles ease user fatigue and discomfort. A tough magnesium die-cast gear housing, auto-stop carbon brushes, a spring-loaded lip seal to prevent dust penetration, a winding protection grid, and a durable pneumatic high-performance hammer mechanism increase the new tool's service life. Metabo's new CODE! anti-theft system is available on the MHE 65. CODE! operates via a one-touch infrared remote control to protect the tool against unauthorized use as reliably and easily as an electronic immobilization system on a car. Owners can enable and disable multiple CODE!-protected rotary hammers using a single key or assign each tool either its own key for a single user or multiple keys for multiple authorized users. In the event of a lost key, only the key needs to be replaced, not the tool. The MHE 65 measures 18-1/2", weighs 12.6 lbs. and comes standard with a carrying case. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
