| New welding shields 3M has announced the introduction of two new welding shields. The 3M welding shield WS-Series helps protect against eye injuries caused by arc welding, including dangerous ultraviolet (UV) and infrared radiation (IR). The 3M welding shield WS-Series is an economical, robust and reliable family of welding shields. The WS-320/37154 shield features an auto-darkening filter (ADF). The filter turns dark the moment an arc is struck and light again when welding stops. Auto-darkening filters can also provide a number of additional benefits: - Ergonomic - Eliminates "nodding down" to help reduce neck strain; - Visibility and precision - Good optical quality for clear view of the workpiece; - Productivity - Welders can use both hands to help keep work flowing, promoting less re-work from misplaced welds. The 3M welding shield WS-320/37154 allows the welder to select from three variable dark state shade levels - 10, 11 and 12. The filter is shade 4 in the light state. Additionally, the two user-selectable sensitivity levels help provide reliable arc detection in differing work and environmental conditions. The shield is for stick, MIG/MAG and for many TIG welding applications. The 3M welding shield WS-110/37155 is intended to provide economical eye protection to welders. It features a standard glass filter plate, shade 10. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
