Novelties and innovations at the interlift 2005

The interlift 2005 as the worldwide leading trade fair for elevator technology once again presents numerous innovations and novelties. Since the last interlift the exhibitors have utilised the time in order to develop new solutions, and to further improve and optimise their products. Products which two years ago were still no more than an idea, a possible solution to a problem, or even a new patent under discussion, will now be presented at the interlift in October as new products ready for the marketplace.

Modern calibration technology and sensors are very important for elevator contractors, manufacturers and operators of elevator plants. They need these devices to be able to test and prove the safety and quality of their plants and their performance. Measurements and values of the physical factors are the best documentation.

Engineers and designers give a perspective of the know-how, which is freely available on the market for designing and executing elevator plants and their components with modern, software based development environments and applications for visualisation and calculation.

In particular the data transfer within the elevators plant itself, and also with the facility management technology and the service centres, will be playing an important role at the interlift 2005. The topics elevator plus internet or elevator plus intranet have long become reality.

Elevators are the safest means of transport in the world. The manufacturers of safety technology have set themselves the task of also finding solutions for application as modernising kits for existing elevator plants, so that this safety factor can be maintained.

Machine-room-less elevator plants are now generally well known, but more and more frequently solutions are being sought which will pander to the old architects’ demand for elevator plants without either a room at the head of the shaft, or a pit at the bottom. The solution here is elevators with optimal use of the available space in the building, with shaft heads and pits as small as possible.

Further importance is placed on developing the energy saving potential in elevator plants. Energy-aware owners and operators are placing more and more importance on modern optimally effective drives and drive controls, and also in intelligent ventilation concepts for the machine room and shaft.

The vertical access to private multiple storey housing is becoming more and more important, in particular with regard to the development of the (aging) population. This necessity is being recognised increasingly. It is apparent that new and optimised products for this field will be presented at the interlift 2005.

For elevator contractors, maintenance companies and departments, for owners and operators of elevator plants with the corresponding professional departments or delegated experts, in particular for planning, maintenance and safety, innovations and further developments of existing products are being presented, which will make new and also existing elevator plants even safer than they already are, and guide them towards the state of the art safety standards. The measuring and documentation of performance and quality will be an important subject, and a number of exhibitors with the corresponding technology will be represented at the interlift 05.
