Revolutionary ceiling clip

Contractors, remodelers and others involved in renovating commercial and institutional buildings can now easily install a new acoustical ceiling without removing the existing ceiling, thanks to the ingenuity of USG Interiors, Inc. A revolutionary innovation called the CELEBRATION™ Renovation Clip makes it possible to refinish an outdated suspended ceiling by adding sleek CELEBRATION Metal Ceiling Panels or TRUE™ Acoustical Ceiling Panels made by USG Interiors. This patented clip enables installers to adapt either of these high-performance ceilings directly onto any standard 15/16-inch metal suspension system and enhance the ceiling's acoustical performance in high-profile areas without adding new ceiling grid.

The clip is an ideal solution for replacing ceilings located in lobbies, offices, retail spaces, health care facilities and educational environments.

Eliminating the need to remove an old ceiling not only saves money, but allows renovators to begin installing the new ceiling system immediately. As a result, the building owner or tenant can sport a showcase ceiling in almost as much time as it would have taken to remove the old one. In addition, the elimination of debris associated with ceiling removal enables other renovation projects, such as painting or carpeting, to proceed more quickly.

Installation of the new ceiling panels is relatively simple. The existing suspension system must be checked to ensure that it is structurally sound, and the plenum must be free of maintenance problems such as roof leaks, mold and mildew. Next, the existing ceiling grid should be squared, especially in older buildings that may have settled.

One CELEBRATION Renovation Clip is attached to each intersection of the 15/16-inch face T-Bar grid, and the new ceiling panels are simply snapped in place over the original ones. The clips, which are made from flame-resistant, self-extinguishing resin, can be attached to any manufacturer's 2- by 2-foot or 2- by 4-foot, roll-formed, metal 15/16-inch-face suspension system.
