Hitachi introduces new rotary hammer

Hitachi Power Tools announced its 7/8” SDS Plus Rotary Hammer, the DH22PB that is compact and lightweight, yet extremely powerful to tackle a multitude of jobs. The Hitachi DH22PB is engineered to conquer concrete, mortar, tile and other hard materials with power to spare. Incorporating the most advanced features available, it is designed for the professional who demands speed and reliability from a rotary hammer. The DH22PB Rotary Hammer delivers class-leading drilling speed to get the job done quickly thanks to a powerful 5.9 Amp motor that delivers 620 Watts of input power. Electronic variable speed control gives the tool a no-load RPM between 0-1, 150 (0-640 RPM in reverse) and impact rate of 0-4, 400 IPM. Its solid and dependable chuck accepts SDS Plus bits by simply sliding the bit into the retainer. For removal, the retainer slides forward and the bit is released, making replacements a breeze. The reverse feature is a push button style, situated above the oversized trigger, making it easy to change the rotation and back out a bit.

This multi-duty rotary hammer offers 2 modes of operation, drilling only and hammer drilling that is controlled by an easy-to-use mode selector dial located under the body. The lock-on speed button allows for continuous operation, reducing end-user fatigue. An adjustable 360 degree side handle provides better control and can be removed when working in tight spaces for better maneuverability. The side handle also includes a depth gauge for consistent drilling depths.

At just 5.1 lbs and 13.81” in length, the DH22PB is one of the lightest and most compact rotary hammers in its class. The soft elastomer pistol grip handle helps to absorb vibration and provides a comfortable and secure grip.

The new rotary hammer reflects the aggressive new ergonomic design being implemented by Hitachi Power Tools. Hitachi is pioneering yet another new trend in the industry- tools that incorporate the latest technology with ergonomic design- a look that will modernize the traditional shop or jobsite.
